This, along with "BEE IN AUGUST" and "DOGTOOTH" are in my opinion some of the greatest movies ever made. It's a shame Greek cinema doesn't really get recognized as much as other European film markets like French and German because i feel there are plenty of Greek masterpieces noone has even discovered.

This film has gorgeous and innovative directing, a witty and clever screenplay, wonderful music and a stellar and classic lead performance from Melina Mercouri. All the makings of an incredible film. Hopefully one day it will reach legendary cult status which it deserves.

Agreed. Melina Mercouri is so charismatic! I can see why she won the Best Actress in 1960's Cannes Film Festival. Well deserved performance, and a very enjoyable and well-made movie. :)
