Greek festival

I found this gem at the Library.
I cannot believe I have nver seen it before.
I love greek festivals, so much that we travel to go to them.
I was hooked after attending a wonderful one in our city every year.
The dancing, the music, the care free attitudes.
The part where he finds out she changes the Gree tradgedies into happy little stories really hit a magic spot with me. That sums up a whole idea of the greek festival, forget everything and enjoy life!

And this is why Greece should not have joined the Euro!

Greece is a capitalist country ... Yet they close business to go to the theatre! Karl Marx explained this in the 'Contradictions of Capitalism' ...

It's a gem of a film indeed. If only more people were like Illia.

I don't remember much about this film because it's been a while since I saw it.

But every once in a while, something will make me think of the Greek tragedies, and I always remember Melina Mercouri interpreting Medea with a happy ending where Medea was just pretending she killed the children. And it ends with them all going to the seashore.

And the look of triumph on her face when all the actors come onstage to take a bow - clearly, Medea didn't kill the children! Look! There they are!

Hilarious!
