Was there two versions?

I saw this film when I was a child and the scene that I most remembered, when I saw it recently, was not in it. I am trying to find out if there were two versions of the film (sometimes this seems to have happened for different countries), or, what other film had this scene in it. Both my brother and a friend can remember such a scene.
The scene was, where four gunmen are on their horses in front of a building and a schoolboy has a toy gun. He calls out bang bang and one of the gunmen turns and shoots the boy dead. I thought the gunman in question was Dee Pollack.
Does anyone recall such a scene and can they remember what film it is from?

I have no idea what film this might have been in. However, it makes me think that a scene of that sort might be from a spaghetti western. Are you positive it was an American film? What time era did you see that movie and was the film black and white or color. All of those things would help narrow down the possibilities.

Thanks for your interest. The film was from 1960 and it was in black and white. I don't think I'd seen any spaghetti westerns at that point. I believe it was an Allied Artists film released by Warner Brothers, and when it came to our town, I'm sure the support film was Pay or Die with Ernest Borgnine. No matter how hard I try I cannot get away from the fact that the scene in question was from The Plunderers.
