Does DANNY KAYE Make a BRIEF Cameo???

There is a ?? Question Mark in the opening titles. Suggesting uncredited cameos.
One is Tony Curtis... (In the Janet Leigh scene)

And another, I'm almost certain, is Danny Kaye!!! At about 1:45 into the film. Nightclub scene.

Pepe says, "One more time, please..." Daily, Chevalier, Pepe do a "three legs" curtain call...

Cut to band playing (hand drums) and crowd dancing. First a man (Dan Dailey) and woman (in gold dress) are dancing.

Then from the left of the screen bobs in and out of the screen a red-haired man in a white suit and bow tie. Seems to have Kaye's unmistakable NOSE! Looking a lot like he did in THE FIVE PENNIES.

Danny Kaye would have been filming THE FIVE PENNIES at PARAMOUNT in 1959... Presumably the same time PEPE (1960) could have been filming at Columbia...??? Kaye would soon be at Columbia for MAN FROM THE DINERS CLUB (1963)

I have googled and found nothing to confirm this.

If it's not Danny Kaye, it sure could be his double.

I'll have a look at that scene. Considering the all star cast they assembled for this film, in short, but noticeable cameos, I couldn't see the filmmakers relegating Danny Kaye to a 'blink and you'll miss him' cameo. They would have showcased him in some form of noticeable cameo appearance.

I just saw Pepe on TCM. It seemed to be a shorter version than what I recall from 1960. Wasn't there also an intermission? It was very enjoyable and in good condition. Leigh and Novack looked ravishing. The Rat Pack were great at the Sands and who can forget Bungalow 10. Cantiflas was terrific but Dailey was very cold.

There likely was an intermission on the longer 195 minute version.

Back in 2007, TCM programming were asked about the shorter version (157 min) being shown and not the longer version (195 min).

This was their response,

We requested the longer version, and Sony originally told us they had it (in fact they said that was the only version they had). However, last week they told us that the longer version was in bad condition and hadn't yet been trasnferred to video. So we ended up with the shorter one.

Are you referring to the rather beefy red haired gent with the crew cut in the lower left hand part of the screen? Not even close.
