Anybody else think Anna Massey is very attractive in this?

I do.

No, there's too much about her that reminds me of my mother in her own youth. You're a sick bastard (no offence: some people must like this kind of woman; after all, someone married my mother (my father, incidentally)). But no, in all seriousness, the very notion of anyone finding Anna Massey attractive in this film turns my stomach. And she's in those naff sixties outfits, too. Urgh!

Your poor mum!

reply

Because you think she's attractive? Or because I so vehemently don't?

reply

I don't no your mum, but the way you speak about her.

Anyway if she looks like Anna Massey it the film, send her round I'll have a go - that'll haunt you dreams now.

Perhaps I'm a little rude about her, but I don't think any man should ever find his own mother attractive: that's just foul. And, alas for you, she looked in her youth quite like Anna Massey does in this film, but no longer; she's 53, if you like that. Might I inquire how old you are? I wouldn't have thought that Anna Massey, as she is dressed and made up in this film, would appeal to the typical tastes of the younger generation these days.

37 yo, though I like a natural woman, or as near natural as they can be. Females to day are way too heaverly made up, false boobs and false finger nails and false everything. Give me a good old fashioned natural decent girl any day.

What gets me about modern girls is the way they think their to good to look at ya, and their realy not that good at all.

reply

I'm 18, and I likewise enjoy only natural women: no slappers with ridiculous amounts of make-up and false body-parts and plastic surgery and all the rest of it for me! An old-fashioned, natural, decent girl is my ideal as well.

But for me there are tons of natural women that look much better than Anna Massey; perhaps I'm a little biased because I have the good fortune to know several naturally very beautiful women. Well, each to their own, as it is said.

Definitly not. I watched this movie with my brother and sister and we all agreed Carl Boehm is out of her league, but we thought Maxine Audley was very attractive. In a milf sort of way. But I do believe Anna Massey would have been found attractive to the Carl Boehm's character because she actually tried to get to know him without insulting him.

I thought Anna's performance was very warm and natural, but that the occasionally awkward dialogue that so many wish to complain about simply reveals how naive her character was.Apart from the eyebrows,I found her very attractive, and she looked even better at 34 when she filmed Hitchcock's "Frenzy." Alas, she expected to do the nude scene herself, and was surprised to find a body double already present on the set when she arrived.Another affecting performance, more heartbreaking because of her tragic fate, another Hitchcock surprise ala Janet Leigh in "Psycho." Would you believe that the first victim in "Peeping Tom" was played by 41-year-old Brenda Bruce? She was very sexy,as were 30-year-old Pamela Green and 20-year-old Susan Travers.I can see how critics of the time resented being put in a position of voyeurism, and cannot understand how so many viewers would regard this as anything but terrific."Psycho" was about perceptions, and this film went even further, released at the same time to nearly unanimous critical scorn(Hitchcock was even described by one dimwitted critic as a "sadistic bastard!") Thankfully, Michael Powell lived long enough to receive the acclaim he had earned for it,dying in 1990.

Definitely pretty, yes (especially in her orange birthday dress). I had one very similar to that, but in red, when I was just about her age here. However, I disagree that she looked better in 'Frenzy.' She was cute in '65, in 'Bunny Lake is Missing.'

reply

To be honest yes I do, which troubles me when I see her on Film/TV today as she's in her 70's and stuck in granny parts.

Didn't find her pretty, really liked her performance. Now Moira Shearer i'd never considered pretty in the Red Shoes. In this she was quite lovely

Yes in a weird sort of plan way. Moira Shearer on the other hand is a stunning knock out!

reply

Yes, she was attractive in the movie, and was throughout her life.

reply

Immensely. I recognize that she's a very unconventional beauty, even a little dopey-looking, but that makes her all the more intriguing. And I love redheads.

reply

Pretty kickin' little body and flat tummy!!

I don't love her.. She kicked me in the face!!

People are still commenting, so I'll have a go, just to keep it rolling.

Yes, yes, oh yes, I found Anna Massey quite pretty and sexy in this, as far as her looks. She gave a very natural, looked like the kind of girl one would pass on the high street.

Trim figure, very beautiful eyes, carried herself well, crooked, sly smile. Bit of a weak chin, but that worked in her favor, really.

Now, her character in this...that's another story. I didn't like her very much. A bit too pushy, busting her way right into his room, inviting herself to watch his films, then taking his camera from him before even giving him a chance to protest; she just steamrolled right over him
