Masterpiece... my arse!

What the hell is this film??? Don't bother watching it unless its under £5 because its really not worth it. I would direct you to Fateless, if you want to see a really great independant film (its hungarian with english subtitles). Not this rubbish.

1) It's an unfinished film
2) It's not rubbish

reply

It is not rubbish but as it is unfinished I cannot fathom how anyone could rate it 10/10.

reply

ye its not perfect and unfinished but good nonetheless

7/10

When there's no more room in hell, The dead will walk the earth...

I dare to say that this is the only fiction movie worth watching regarding the holocaust. About 20 years after, I still remember vividly the silence in the cinema when the movie ended. Not a Hollywood movie for once. Don't watch it if you can't take it.

Many artists have left unfinished works (Schubert's 8th symphony, for example) behind, but people can still rate them ten. Even if unfinished, works of art can be masterful for their aesthetic value. And sometimes accidents like these can make them even more interesting.

Classic storytelling is out of place when it comes to picture the holocaust. Obviously the film was not destined to be unfinished but sometimes an accidental act is a blessing. The fragmentary nature of the movie is relevant here as the main character tries to recollect what seems an awful dream, something that you can hardly put in words nor rationalize and make sense with it.
The encounter on the ship, the interaction with the female nazi guard, the night scenes at the camp. the filming material (actual footage in situ, the photos, the voiceover narration)... an attempt to recollect and rebuild after a major blow to the civilization.
This is a haunting and unique piece of cinema.
