Does anything actually happen in this movie, or is it all talk?

I just turned this off after half an hour. Nice b/w photograpahy. That's about it. It moves at a snail's pace. And features normative characters I can't even begin to care about ("Daddy Can I have a horse.")

reply

Milly was by far the weakest character. I feel she was the most underdeveloped and also the most dislikable. But that by no means discredits this lovely film. Certainly not a reason to turn off. And as far as it moving too slowly, well, if you can't watch slow movies... that's your problem! HAHA

reply

Douche, half my top ten are slow moving.

reply

Then what's your problem? This movie is good!

reply

Agreed! The dialogue is one of the great pleasures of this film.

reply

The dialogue is one of the joys.

I'm looking for an occasion to user the daughter's phrase "invincibly ignorant".

*Ahem*

reply

Not so much slow moving as very subtle.

reply

...and therefore wasted on the 'Star Wars' generation. Subtlety isn't the rage these days.

reply

Yeah, I think it was outlawed during the 1980s, wasn't it...?

reply

no, half way through there are some car chases, explosions, he travels back in time to save the world from errant robots, he then discovers an arch villain that plans to take over the world, based in a hollowed out volcano in space or something. you should of stuck with it

reply

He finally finds his car near the end, dude. Then they go back to White Castle.

What I had in mind was boxing the compass.

reply

People used to talk to each other then, not sit glued to their mobile phone then rush off to bungy jump for two minutes and pretend to be an action man.

reply

Well said!

reply

not much else its all talk and more talk.
