Just finished watching this movie on TCM. I love when I happen to catch a movie I'd never heard anything about and end up loving it. Everything about it was great. The acting, script, sets, costumes were all first rate. I'd never seen Yul Brynner in a straight romantic comedy before. Besides being incredibly handsome and wearing those great clothes (my favorites were the green velvet tuxedo jacket and the black silk robe and ascot), he was incredibly funny ("go ahead and listen to her sordid reminiscences LOL). Kay Kendall matched him every step of the way. I'll definitely have to check out more of her work. Reading the other posts I see this was her last film. Did anyone notice that Gregory Ratoff's character was named Max and Yul's character's last name was Fabian? Gregory Ratoff played the put upon producer Max Fabian in All About Eve. lol Another thing, what do you think happened to all those painting and sculptures of Yul Brynner after filming was completed? They were awesome! I wonder if Yul Brynner got to keep them. It's not like they could have been used in any other productions. Anyway I'm glad I watched this movie and I'm sorry to see it's not available on dvd. It's another title I'll look forward to the dvd release of.

I loved Kay Kendall and I thought Yul Brynner was the sexiest and most gorgeous man I've ever seen. I still do after all this time !!! The clothes in this movie for both are fantastic !!!
