As is clearly explained, each of the five casinos had a man 'inside', i.e. one of the 11 who was employed there, and could--among other things--give Tony Bergdorf access to the electrical box.

But what I don't understand is...how could Vince Massler be a porter at the Sands, let alone have insider info, when he was emceeing at the club in Phoenix only a few days before?

They prolly hired extra last-minute help for the New Year's Eve crunch.

(Besides, whatever Frankie wants, Frankie gets - including not having fans look too deeply into continuity issues in his movies.)

Maybe the club in Phoenix was owned by the same mobsters who had an interest in the Sands?
