One of my favourite Movies with the Duke!

I really like this movie and enjoy it every time I watch it. It is a really entertaining one. The opening Song is fun and sounds typically for the end of the 50's. Henry Hathaway as Director did a fine job. I believe in all the western he made with John Wayne, True Grit and the Sons of Katie Elder, he did a good work. Maybe North to Alaska is not a Masterpiece of the classic Western, but from my point of view it is one of the best Western Comedies ever.

It is a good mixture of funny fist fight scenes, romance comedy, good actors (John Wayne, the beautiful Capucine, Ernie Kovacs as the bad guy, Fabian the singer and one of the best performances of Stewart Granger).

I've always enjoyed this movie. It benefits not only from the cast and direction but the magnificent scenery (Alaska was a good change of pace from the usual western settings).

I agree that the scenery looks nice, but they didn't go anywhere near Alaska. Just about all the exteriors were done in California.🐭
