ha, before I watch it - I mean, he picks her up in a ho-house so I'm assuming she was a prostitute, but before I show it to my young cousin I thought I should know!

So was the Fabian character. He made Alaska "Land of the Midnight Cowboy." That was a back-story (more of a backdoor story) the censors took out.

The OP may have tried demimonde, which works well in the context of this film being ... a class of women kept by a wealthy protector.🐭

At the log climbing contest there was a close-up shot of Duke midway up the tree and at the base of the tree about to start his climb. It looks like him but not sure if it's him or a stunt double (Chuck Roberson?) The trivia part of IMDB doesn't mention it.
