A Bit About the Bug (Spoiler)

Charles "The Bug" Workman dies in the movie. In reality he lived into the 1970s.

Estimates vary as to the number of murders he committed. Though perhaps not as prolific as Abe Reles, Workman is credited with one of the best known hits of the 1930s, the killing of Dutch Schultz and several of his associates. He was sentenced to life for the crime in 1941 but was paroled after serving 23 years.

The Bug then took a job in the garment industry, ironically in the same district where Lepke Buchlater had presided many years before. He never discussed his past life again.

Very good point. There are a number of inaccuracies, but mostly the movie is very good on facts and gives a great picture of Murder, Inc. They also interspersed pictures of actual hits with the movie murder victims.

And Red Alpert was a small time hood murdered by Reles long before Lepke ordered that killing spree. Alpert was only 19 at the time and never a hit man for Murder, Inc. Why they chose to use his name when others would have been more accurate is a mystery of sorts.
