I'm a fan of hers but didn't know this movie existed until I just happened to see it on late night TV, at the moment they walk into the nightclub to watch her sing. It was like, huh, a singer...is that--wow!

I agree. I had no idea Sarah Vaughan looked and sang like that. Her song is a highlight of this movie for sure.

Heck,yeah----it was nice to see a young and pretty Sarah Vaughan around the time her career was taking off, I believe. She had a beautiful voice with an amazing range, was a seminal influence on singer Anita Baker, and was a huge jazz star back in that era.
