Crucifixes

It is interesting that Katia's father wards off Javutich with a Russian Orthodox cross, but Katia herself has a western style crucifix. I thought that Moldavia was in the Russian empire at the time the film takes place.

First rate film ,btw. The opening scene was one of the best that I have seen.
