Dogs

They do sound like real cries. I wouldn't think they would've killed real dogs, but it's been done in films before.

You don't need to kill a dog to make him cry... Still, that would mean there still was animal abuse ? and, unfortunately, film making wasn't really conscious about aninal abuse back then (remember the turtle that was actually killed in Cannibal Holocaust some twenty years later).
