He would have been excellent as one of the Seven.

Huh? Then it wouldn't be 7. They would have to call it The Magnificent 8 and then it wouldn't make sense

Ummm...that would be Lee Marvin cast in place of one of the other 7. Take your pick.

Then the movie may not be as good. He's too strong a presence. The only role he could take and make it work would be Chris.

But to remain seven--true to the source, "Seven Samurai", one of the actors would have to have been cut to make room for Lee. They were all perfect for their roles; I wouldn't exchange any of them, as much as I like Marvin.
