Was I the only one who fking hated this movie?

This movie is one of the most awful and terrible movie remakes EVER.
I mean, obviously there was no way any remake of could be as good as The Seven Samurai itself.

But this? Seriously?

First of all, the *beep* MUSIC was so *beep* annoying.
characters boring and I didn't know any of them by name.
The crazy "samurai" was annoying, stupid and retarded (unlike in the original).
The "samurai" were using guns. GUNS. *beep* GUNS, no swords. GUNS.
The mexicans were all wearing clean clothers just to be against the "dirty" mexicans cliché. How *beep* ridiculous .

It's just such a typical Hollywood movie, wanna be heart-warming, PG-13 family western film. I simply can't express how much I hate this movie. I had bellyache and got sick while watching this *beep*

This movie gets a 4/10

Most of this post is ridiculous but I had to laugh out loud at the stupidity of the complaint that they were using guns instead of swords. Priceless.

The clean farmers was a rule the Mexican Govt imposed on the producers in order to shoot in Mexico.

I just watched it and thought it was terribly written. Nobody would ever act or talk like the characters in this film. And I would never consider it a 'classic.'
Other than that, it was a typical Hollywood western of the time.

ALL of these negative comments are based on the 21st Century and how things are made TODAY. It was made in 1959-60 and it was GOOD for the time period it was made so stop your belly aching and THINK 1959-60 when you watch it!!!!

Yeah, just saw it and looks really bad. They remade Seven Samurai with what seems to be characters from Expendables. They're so bland, no chemistry whatsoever. Dialogue is terrible. This does look like the last of the old time westerns from 30s-40s. Basically very dated and naive.
Mexicans were very funny. The movie was one of the few american films shown in USSR. I could tell the reason.
