THE MAGNIFICENT 7 is a fascinating type of remake. The main characters (not just the title characters) here and in SHICHININ NO SAMURAI have similar personalities and sub-plots and, yet, the new ones aren't as interesting as their counterparts. I have to ask the same question I asked whenever a website asks me for my credit card despite claiming that its services are free: How is that possible? Well, the original movie had moments that helped with their development. It wasn't obvious, because they were small and detailed. As a stand-alone movie, it's an entertaining Western with a catchy music score. Yul Brynner and Eli Wallach's performances are good; Charles Bronson and Horst Buchholz's aren't.

LOS 7 MAGNÍFICOS es un tipo fascinante de remake. Los personajes principales (no solo los personajes titulares) aquí y en SHICHININ NO SAMURAI tienen personalidades y sub-tramas similares y, aun así, los nuevos no son tan interesantes como sus contra-partes. Tengo que preguntar lo mismo que pregunto cada vez que un sitio web me pide mi tarjeta de crédito a pesar de afirma que sus servicios son gratis: ¿cómo es posible? Bueno, la película original tuvo momentos que ayudaron con su desarrollo. No era obvio, porque eran pequeños y detallados. Como una película por sí sola, es un western entretenido con una música incidental pegajosa. Las actuaciones de Yul Brynner e Eli Wallach son buenas; las de Charles Bronson y Horst Buchholz no lo son.
