ahead of it's time
people say alot of movies were ahead of their time but this picture truly was. it deals with issues that, in 1960, weren't on the forefront. it's just a great movie, everyone should see it. it has a timeless quality.
shareI watching the movie right now on youtube even though I've seen it often on tv. There are plenty of earlier movies made about drug and alcohol addiction. It's the tv stations that didn't air them enough so later generations saw them. I can think of a few. But there are more. TCM shows many of them.
