Leonard Maltin Interviews Robert Stack

When TITANIC came out a few years ago, Leonard Maltin did an interview with Robert Stack about the video release of THE LAST VOYAGE.

ET had plugged the interview as 'coming tomorrow', but that night, the President had his state of the union address and ET did not run at 7 pm and I was really irked. Had to see the interview.

So I seet my VCR to record for 8 hours in slow speed hoping they would run ET in the middle of the night ....and they did at like 4 am.

Neat interview as they compared the 2 films and Robert Stack was really enthusiastic about talking about LAST VOYAGE and sloshing around in all that water on a ship that was being partially sunk and filming some scenes w/o rehearsal b/c they could only film them once.

He said all the stuff was real except the last scene where they were running on the deck as the ship is sinking. He said the built a set that looked like the ship and they were only a few yards (or so) out in the ocean off Santa Monica, CA. People were watching the filming from the beach and he said the deck chair that floated by got a lot of applause from the crowd.

Maybe they will put that interview on the DVD.
