* - I've seen this film, alas without the proper translation/subtitles. Can't rate it, of course.

P.S. - This is actually a repost from FG board (deleted some time ago) and I apologize to all who already participated there. It would be really nice, if you could repeat the exercise here, in humble hope that this thread will 'live' (even) a little longer. Thank you for your understanding.

El Ángel exterminador (The Exterminating Angel, 1962) 9,5/10
Viridiana (1961) 9,5/10
Los Olvidados (The Young and the Damned, 1950) 8,5/10
Le Charme discret de la bourgeoisie (The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie, 1972) 8/10

I still got so many i want to see, i haven't seen any of his old ones.

Thnak you very much for your rates, Jos. Much appreciated (as always).

"You know i am a tough rater, so no 10/10's from me."

Yeah, I already know that (but still sad...just kidding, your rates are quite nice).

"I still got so many i want to see, i haven't seen any of his old ones."

Good luck with them. I'm also currently on the hunt of some unseen 'older' ones.

I have seen only a couple more of his films since I last commented on my impression of him and his films. The one thing that struck me the most is the characters. They always seem real to me. Not characters created for a film, but the opposite a film created for the characters. That may seem vague to some, but for myself I always felt they he is able to reflect on what is inside the person to a point that you starting thinking like that person as you watch the film. Truly one of the greatest directors of the 20th Century.

As I sat down and reflected on the ones I have seen in order to list them in some kind of order of quality of content I found that I couldn't. So I will list them in order of my personal attachment to them.

Tristana
The Exterminating Angel
Los Olvidados
Nazarin
Viridiana
The Discreet Charm of the Bouregeoisie
Belle de Jour

After reading a biography of him I have to state the is a most interesting man who led a most interesting life.

I watch a movie everyday. It helps keep reality away.

Oh, so you've seen all 3 I mentioned yesterday as a 'good' starting point with Bunuel (I guess I misunderstood something since I got the impression you haven't...yet). Great work...and still many goodies ahead of you.

Thank you very much for your feedback. Much appreciated.

Really nice to see someone 'finally' found their way to this thread after such a long time.

Razorblade didn't impress you much, eh? But those 10/10s are really nice to see (kudos).
