Diane McBain

Diane McBain was so beautiful in this movie and WB contracted Diane to make more movies for the studio: Parrish, Claudelle Inglish, Black Gold, Mary Mary,
Distant Trumpet, but left in a huff when Jack Warner cast her in a minor role in Sex And The Single Girl...a strategic error, with Tony Curtis, Lauren Bacall, Henry Fonda and Natalie Wood cast...WB would have spent a ton of money on PR and Diane would have been in a grade A production value movie.

She made a great entrance in Parrish and got the title role in Claudelle Inglish..

She segued from WB to work with Elvis Presley in Spinout and then a few other
less than memorable movies, quit the film Industry, became an Executive Secretary, and then returned to make some other small tv shots likely to cash in on her name.

Where is she now?

She certainly WAS beautiful. However, I thought the scene with the boyfriend and her picnicing on a beach with frozen ice floating by was ridiculous.
I just cant imagine this as a place to spread a table cloth and picnic.
Maybe its just me.

It is called romantic. To be with your favored one trumps the setting.

Diane McBain looked absolutely lovely in the Icelandic sweater and skirt for the picnic scene.
The romantic interlude could have taken place almost anywhere.
So, why were they near a glacier?
Probably to remind us the story was taking place in........ALASKA!
