Shelia's Striptease

Now that I have seen some of the other posts about this movie, allow me to put my own two cents worth in! I remember seeing this movie back in 1961 while it was playing at a base theater while I was in the Army overseas. Overall, I have but one word to say and this is EXCELLENT! This movie was a bit ahead of its time in regards to the graphic images of the Marines getting slaughered as they landed on the beaches. But the best part to me was seeing the drunken (but awkward) striptease delivered by Patricia Owens. While she was seated on the sofa next to David Janssen I noticed that she stood up and tugged on her girdle. The very first time that I saw this I had hoped to get a glimpse of her stockings and her girdle; especially since girdles are not often shown in movies. But somehow her girdle and her stockings just "magically disappeared" after she took off her skirt. Oh well ... that's just Hollywood. I thought the scene was quite sexy and it still makes my pulse race after all of these years. I still remember her nickname of the "Iron Petticoat" and it was not until I saw this website that I knew what her name really was.
