I noticed the Prokofiev twice--the second instance in the procession of the Greek Orthodox monks. The first escapes me momentarily. Will have to re-see the film.
shareI do loke zernest Gold's score. But, how it was awarded the Best Original score Academy Award over Alex North's monumental SPARTACUS is beyond my understanding. Any other year, would have been preferable.
shareGold's score was a HUGE pop hit, along with a song adaptation. North's score didn't have anywhere near the same popularity. As usual, the academy went with the commercial success, and not necessarily the greater artistic accomplishment. That being said, I still like Gold's score. I thought it was quite stirring.
