Piano Music

I am interested in learning the source of that hauntingly beautiful music Leopoldo and Carmilla play on the piano. Is it an original piece by composer Jean Prodromides, or is it a classical piece originally composed for another work?

I think it was written for the film, but I´m not sure. One way or the other, it´s still one of the most haunting and beautiful themes in a horror film ever.

The theater is like a faithful wife. The film is the great adventure, the costly, exacting mistress

I love that piano piece as well. Unfortunately, it was not included in a recent CD of composer Jean Prodromides' film scores: "Danton," issued by Disques Cinemusique. (There are five cues from the film.) These are the only musical tracks available at this time, and if this film ever achieves a DVD release I hope that they include a separate musical track.
