Need British detail (Solved)

Finally got to watch The Entertainer (1960), with Laurence Olivier. I was a little disappointed, probably because I had seen the 1976 American TV version with Jack Lemmon, partly because some of the specific British and period aspects sailed past my head.

One detail in the movie piqued my curiosity, and I'm hoping someone can "illuminate" me. When Archie and his father get a commitment to open a show at the Winter Garden, the producer notes it will open during "_________ week". We then see a series of stock footage shots showing a variety of neon and lighting displays, as well as decorated streetcars a la Disney's old "electrical parade". I am trying to remember the term the producer used for the event, and was curious whether it still goes on.

Can anyone shed some "light" on the subject?

"Well, there it is."

Illuminations week!

I had gotten an answer on the INTK board a while ago.

Further research (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blackpool_Illuminations) noted that the "week" stretches all the way to Christmas now.

Blackpool illuminations are still going and likely to continue for the foreseeable future.
