Did anyone else want to strangle Phoebe? I wanted to punch her lights out. Constant nagging, over-emotional, childlike, annoying as *beep* and crying stridently, making very unpleasant noises as she does so. What an absolute pathetic pig.
shareShe was quite a mess, but I still found her sympathetic. Archie treated her like a piece of sh*t. Admittedly, she allowed it. Her childlike manner probably made her more sympathetic; she was very vulnerable.

I think she's a good example of someone who is an alcoholic, and has borderline personality disorder! But she's more sympathetic than Archie, who's kind of a sociopath!

Agree. A difficult-to-like character, but a brilliant performance by Brenda de Banzie.
shareIt’s not exactly a sympathetic role, although one appreciates how miserable and difficult life with Archie must be, but de Banzie is excellent and makes you feel for her.
