agreed, 7/10 from me as well. but not being one of Bergman's best is far from bad. :)

No movie is perfect, but some of Bergman's movies are as perfect as possible. Those are 10/10 for me. This one is among the second group, just behind those top Bergman's movies, definitely worth watching, especially if you want to get to know Bergman's opus a little better.

Better than Persona, I'd argue. No tedious experimental flourishes or typical Bergman gloom and intellectualism, which can sometimes become self-parodying. It's not much to look at (I didn't recall seeing Sven Nyqvist name's on the credits, so maybe that's why), but there are plenty of good lines and understated performances. The cold sore bit cracked me up.
