These films are comparable to the finest Anthony Mann-Jimmy Stewart westerns i love and the John Ford westerns.
Only Buchanon rides alone approaches mediocrity.
The combination of Ranown productions(Scott's company) with Boetticher's direction, Burt Kennedy's scripts and Charles Lawton Jr's cinematography is among the best in the western genre.
