2 minutes of extra footage?

I was reading a review on amazon.com that said there is two minutes of footage re-inserted in the VCI DVD release of the film that had been dropped from the American release when titles Horror Hotel. Does anyone know what the scenes are that were cut but are now back?

reply

Yes- it's at the very beginning of the film when the Puritans burn Elizabeth Selwyn at the stake on March 3, 1692. She gives a dying speech in which she declares her allegiance to Satan and levels a blood curse on the village. It's quite chilling and atmospheric!

Thanks. I was curious as to what would have been cut, and it makes sense that it would have been the references to Satan back in those days.

There is also a little, not much, extra footage in the scene with Richard, Nan's brother, and Professor Driscoll when they are discussing "The basis for fairy tales is reality, the basis for reality is fairy tales" as to whether or not REAL witches exist(ed) after Nan tells Richard that she is going to Whitewood. But that burning-at-the-stake curse by Elizabeth Selwyn is something else!
