'Sh*t' in 1960!

It sounds like the disfigured female character says 'sh*t' when describing her face. I didn't know people were allowed to say this in the movies in 1960. I'm still puzzled about it.

I haven't seen the movie for a while, but it seems to me that what I remember her saying is something like this:
Mad Doctor: Your face...
Prostitute: I know, it's ugly as sin, but the body's all right, so I make out.

And when he crossed the bridge, the phantoms came to meet him

Back in I think 1962 or 63 there was an import called Hippodrome, I forget from which nation and I can't find it here on IMDb.
Anyway there's a scene near the end where some of the Chorus girls go into the dressing rm to switch costumes and low and behold you see the end one topless and mind you when I was stationed in Indiana in 1967 the scene was left in on a TV Broadcast of the feature.

Probably won't see this comment, seeing that it's been 3 years. But I think the woman was actually saying SHEITAN, which is French for The Devil.

I just watched it tonight halloween on TCM and thought she said, 'Ugly as Sin' with a slight 'sh' sound to it. I laughed thinking about what other said. It would've been so cool for the doctor to exclaim, "Your face!" and she replies, "Yes, I know it's ugly as *beep* I'm still laughing thinking that a woman would actually say that! Man, it's funny...

reply

There's no doubt about it. She clearly says "sin".
