The Beverly Hillbillies Mansion.

Great location use of the original Clampett mansion at 750 Bel Air Road, Bel Air, California. It was torn down years ago and a new mega-mansion sits on the property. In the film, the house was smartly photographed and was dazzling. No wonder CBS and Paul Henning picked it for the exterior in Hillbillies two years later.

But, now that you've said that, there's a picture that comes to mind of that long winding drive, so that should have told me something.

I used to take friends by the old Kirkeby Mansion in the late 60's up until they remodeled the entrance, where you couldn't see the house anymore. I didn't know they tore the old place down. Are you sure?

Fortunately, it was not demolished, just remodeled. A long article on the mansion:

I finally saw Cinderfella for the first time today on movieplex and knew at once this was the mansion used for exterior shots on The Beverly Hillbilles.
