Why wasn't this called MRS. CIMARRON?

It's more about her than him.

So sezeth I, so sezeth the world.

Well you're right. She comes out of it more black and white, whilst he's just shades of grey in a lot of ways.

I had the same thought after watching the original movie but I think this version did a better job showing us why the movie is called Cimarron. However it may seem, the movie is really about him not Sabra. That's why her dedication and the statue at the end of the movie are of Cim not his wife.

As Sabra says, Cim may not have been around much but his presence was always felt. Everything she did, including being there, was due to his vision, his values, his determination, and his efforts. He even made a big impact on the town; he stood up to the bullies; defended the underprivileged or weak members. He helped the less fortunate; he stood up for what was right even at great risk to himself; he held true to his values even if that meant going against his friends; he never sold out for riches, position, or status; he stayed true to his family; and through the newspaper was the voice of reason in the community. The town and state may never have grown and prosper without his influence, and, even though she didn't always agree with his ways, Sabra carried on where he left off; running the paper as he would have done it himself.

Cim tried to make Sabra happy and he wanted to give her whatever she wanted, but he couldn't compromise his values. It made her crazy but she loved the man he was. He always saw the bigger picture and understood the far-reaching consequences but she could not. That talent or trait cannot be contained. People who have it often think in bigger terms; while they're concerned with the greater good their more intimate relationships tend to go neglected.

Woman, man! That's the way it should be Tarzan. [Tarzan and his mate]

Cimarron was the kid's name.

Just because I stumble down the road like a drunk, that doesn't mean it's the wrong one.
