This movie comes as an extra on the "Black and White in Color" DVD, for anyone that's interested.

And that's exactly where I saw it. Never heard of it until last night.

How did the tribes manage to keep from becoming extinct, if they really did kill each other as much as the movie claimed they did?

I was wondering about that myself. At any rate, it may help to explain why New Guinea has a very low population (about 7.5 million) considering its huge size. Life expectancy can't be very high.
