...CONTstable!!
I watched this again after many years recently, and couldn't quite believe what I was hearing!! That one line is CLEARLY intended to infer something VERY, VERY vulgar and crude. Given the far more innocuous stuff cut from myriad Carry Ons throughout the series, I'm incredulous that this simply sailed past the censors!!!
It's been a couple days now since I watched it (on YouTube) and don't remember exactly the details but I do recall being struck by something said, which seems along the lines of what you described. But then, as an American, all Carry Ons are an education to me.

During my thirty plus years as, yes, a contstable, I noticed a lot of people (in the North of England, where I worked) pronounced it "kunstable".
