Is it just my imagination

Or in the scenes with the La Traviata dress, does Judy Holliday wear different shoes? In the "Just In Time" dance, it seems as if her heels are shorter than they during "The Party's Over."

Four years later but what the heck: No, not your imagination, Judy's heels change during the red dress scenes. When she dances with Carl and Dean they're lower; when she's solo/standing they're higher. More comfortable, perhaps?

Could be! Or to keep the partners at comfortable heights! :) Wow, I'm glad I have notifications turned on...I forgot all about this post. Thanks!

Cool; glad to help. (Note to self-I should turn on the notifications, too.)

Remember this post again?

In The First Wives Club, Goldie Hawn changes shoes during You Don't Own Me when they ladies make their way out to the cobblestone street. I read that she couldn't dance on those cobblestones in the indoor shoes. I always think of Judy when I see that scene.

I actually DO still remember this post...lol. I had noticed that in "TFWC," too, but I don't think of this particular movie. There are some Fred Astaire moments I think of...some of his partners were just a bit too tall...
