Sic Transit Gloria

I couldn't help but think of those words, uttered by Liz's character (Gloria) earlier in the film, while I watched the wreck scene near the end of the film.

"A little old lady got mutilated late last night… Werewolves of London again."

According to Wikipdedia: "Thus passes the glory of the world." It has been interpreted as "Worldly things are fleeting."

She didn't seem to grasp them when ordering those French fries, but yes, you were right about thinking about them during that scene. She made it sound as though that phrase was brought up during one of her psychiatrist sessions. I wonder if that line was used in the novel, or just in the screenplay.

"No, I don't like to cook, but I have a chicken in the icebox, and you're eating it."
