Anna left because ...

Because the movie is so bad. Stilted dialogue, long drawn out scenes, and bored wealthy people who the audience doesn't care about. I have to bolt after 39 minutes, I gave it a try but it's not my type of foreign film.

Stilted dialogue? This just seems to be one of those clichés people throw out whether it makes sense or not.

Long drawn out sequences? Why, yes. and this isn't a flaw, it's an intentional choice by the director. The kind of visual language Antonioni employs demands such a pacing. The viewer is meant to not simply see the images, but absorb. There are many criss crossing visual metaphors and details in these shots, not to mention the mood of the film also calls for a lethargic pace. This is a movie whose characters are more expressed through imagery than dialogue. It sits in the mind long after it has finished.

But of course none of that is going to work if you're going to dismiss it after 39 minutes. Are you kidding me? If you're going to bother posting an opinion, at least actually watch the whole thing.

39 minutes is not "giving it a try".

There are people who think this is one of if not the greatest film ever made, yet the OP was too bored after 39 minutes to watch it.

I don't understand why people proudly post that they are easily bored. ADD is a pandemic. But it is not a good thing.

This was a great movie. It's not the movie's fault that you don't get it.
