The agitator

It's been a while since I last saw this. Who was the guy in glasses who came down on the train to stir up all of the trouble? I thought I saw him in The Fixer (a terrible UK TV show) last week so I've tried comparing cast lists on here and have come up with nothing.

reply

He was played by the actor Alfred Burke who made a career out of playing sinister, slimy characters.

reply

Probably best remembered for playing a more congenial character, Frank Marker in the TV series Public Eye.

reply

Alfred Burke played the role of the union organiser Travers who stirred up and plotted with the shop steward at the factory.

reply

I think he was supposed to be portraying a member of the far-left who had infiltrated the factory.
Borne out by the movie's final scene where he moves on to pastures new to stir afresh.

Who was the lad who attacked Michael Craig with a knife just before the end? The name Craig calls him isn't in the character/cast list. But he's a face that was frequently seen in 60s TV shows.
Love this site. I find myself searching for the careers and films of cast members from these old movies. Surprising how many of them had short lives. I see their faces and wonder what happened to them.

reply

It's Brian Bedford; he plays an excellent baddie.

Cheers!
