Van Williams + Lee Patterson

Does anyone know if Van and Lee got along in real life the reason I'm asking is because I have an interview with van and he talks about the show and he saids everyone name but lee's sure it was true that Troy and Diane were big stars But chacha only did surfside 6 where as Lee was in Movies soaps surfside 6 so I just wanted to know if they got along I like all the cast members But Lee is my Favorite.

I found out for myself Van & Lee were good friend during surfside 6 but Van said that in his mine Troy was a little stuck-up a little impressed with himself reading all his clipping and believing his own publicity but was a pretty good guy when you'd get him away from the crowds. Also at first he said that Margarita Sierra was a brat that she was rude to the cast and crew and he told her to get off her high horse well after they made up they got along real well but it seem that he got along better with Lee and Diane then with Troy and Margarita.

Thanks for the feedback on this great show and its good to hear anything about the cast members and their social and private lives. I would like to know if there is a book anywhere published on the old Warner Bros. detective shows I could read.

Great show! Like vandiver27, I wasn't born during the time Surfside 6 originally aired, but loved watching this show when it was running on Good TV when it was available on cable television several years ago.

I liked the main characters, but must say that I am partial to Ken Madison, even though Sandy Winfield was equally appealling to the eye!

I love Van in the green hornet and westwind I just like him in surfside 6 and I love Troy in his movie the 50s and 60s that is. but like I said Lee was my favorite. the lady tied the only ep I hated Chacha on was heel over head when she was with Dave and that guy that she like when dave tried to get her attenion she put her nose in the air like she was better everyone but after that man was knock out I realize she was at Dave's side again that the only ep I hated her on.

You realize of course that the show still plays on American Life Network (which is the new name for GoodLife TV). It is on every 3 weeks on Monday nite (it rotates with Hawaiian Eye and Bourbon Street Beat), and in fact is on this evening. And while we are mentioning our favorite detectives from the series, let's not forget about Diane McBain, and the value she added to the show.

I don't get that channel which I did even those I have all 74eps on tape I like Diane but as I'm a girl I like the guys better but I do like Diane better then Chacha I thought Chacha could sing real good I thought that girl Sue song terrible ChaCha was a lot better.

reply

Unfortunately, that channel is no longer available in our area - wish it was!

I won't deny that Diane McBain added presence and glamour to SS6, but as a woman, I also tend to favor the male detectives on the show.

Fair enough responses, and as a man, I very much enjoyed Miss McBain's presence. But I agree the guys were charismatic and made the show work real good.
