Regarding the houseboat

The lead review probably really belonged on this board. The poster is asking if anyone knows where the houseboat they filmed the show on is because he had a meal at a houseboat restaurant in Miami in 1979 and someone said that's where they filmed it.

All the Warner Brother's detective shows were filmed in LA. Efram Zimbalist Jr, Anthoney Eisley, Richard Long and Lee Patterson would have had dressing rooms right near each other even though they were supposed to be thousands of miles away.

Some stock footage of the places they were supposed to be in was used. The houseboat we see in the closing credits may have been in Miami or it could have been in the LA area. All the scenes shot in and around the show's houseboat are studio shots done in LA.

"A" houseboat like the one in the series did exist in Miami Beach. I saw it as a teenager while the family vacationed in Florida. Whether it was just the handiwork of a tourist-trader looking to make a buck or a more permanent feature, I cannot say.
