Weirdest scripts ever!

Don't get me wrong, I love many aspects of the show. But it seems like the writer Stirling Silliphant gets these weird ideas for scripts and no matter how unrealistic goes ahead and writes it. Most of the episodes have a semblance of realism, but most of them have plots and dialogue that is so off the wall, and no one else seems to notice.
That said I like the actors, the idea of going to another town every week, on location in the early '60s. My favorite episode was the mermaid one with Diane Baker. Yes, another unreal on, but it gets a pass it was so good!
