I remember this series, but I recall it was on very early in the AM. However wasn't there a season where it was in Early evening syndication? Our local CBS affiliate showed an entire season of these episodes around 7:00pm in the evening on Saturdays.
One episode stands out about a game show that if you wanted to win a million dollars, you had to shoot yourself in the head. It was down to two finalists, an African-American mother and a quarreling couple. The African-American mother almost did it, but she had her pride, and backed down much to disgust of her son. The couple decided the wife would do it, and she almost did, but there was only one bullet, and as she kept clicking the gun, the MC took the gun away from her. Can't remember much more than that, but I recall series was canceled and returned to early AM reruns of previous episodes
