funniest moment?

What scene makes you laugh the most?

I love the scene where Fred is talking with the psychiatrist, when he thinks Barney is a kleptomaniac, and the guy forgets his own name. When Fred reminds him of his name, he shakes Fred's hand and says, "How do you DO,sir! I've heard so much about you!" No, YOU'RE the doctor! "Say, that's right!"

And just before, when he's poking Fred on the nose!

Hilarious!

I always laugh at the scene in "The Flintstone Flyer' where Fred goes into "shock". Believe me, no one actually going into shock would act the way Fred did, lol!

reply

That is funny. It reminded me of the one where Fred faked being mugged, but Wilma didn't buy it. So Barney brings the planter crashing down on Fred's skull?! Wow!

Oh, and the Shinrock episode. Fred turns off the TV, and the hand reaches out of the TV, and switches it back on! LOL

Barney : "That's ONE way of keeping their ratings up!" 

I think this was from the episode "Latin Lover".
Betty and Wilma are watching a program on TV, and they absolutely LOVE the male lead actor.
Fred arrives home, wanting dinner. Of course, Wilma is too pre-occupied with the show.
As soon as there is a commercial, Wilma races into the kitchen to make Fred's dinner. It included a watermelon, which consequently gets dropped on Fred's head.
Wilma makes it back just in time.

Betty : "You made it!"

Fred then see some flowers in a vase on the table next to him. He picks them up, and eats them.

I dunno. That made me laugh out loud. 

And the one with the singer who's allergic to pickled do-do eggs! Fred comes home, Dino fetches his pipe & slippers & Fred absent-mindedly lights the pipe for Dino, who then reclines against Fred, reading the paper & enjoying Fred's pipe & slippers! Love it!

So many good moments to pick from.

The Shinrock segment with Fred first getting injured is great especially the end punchline
"It'll be bigger than the jerk"
Barney: You hear that Fred, you'll be bigger than a jerk.

One of the minor moments that really shows off that great HB voice acting roles of turning something regular hilarious is where Fred is on the phone to call Barney but doesn't realize Barney is in the house right behind him. Fred hangs up and turns around with "Barney!" and Barney in what's a brilliant over-reaction responds with "Fred!"

Another one during the Scouts where Barney tells Fred to play dead in order to wade off the bear. And the bear then proceeds to throw Fred off a cliff to see if he's really dead.

Over all though I think the Alvin Brickrock episode and Dress Rehersal are among the best ones with so many laughable moments that keep rolling.

One other one that made me laugh out loud:

IIRC, it was in the episode "Bedrock's Most Beautiful Baby". The episode pitted Fred against Barney, campaigning against each other to win the competition.

They are both out on the road, driving a campaign vehicle. The conversation goes something like:

Fred : I'm warning you!
Barney : Look. I'm scared, I'm scared!

Not even a split second later, they crash.

I dunno. That made me laugh hysterically. 

Years later, I was wondering how they crashed. I mean...they were both going straight ahead. 

These are all good choices.
Here are some more funny moments:

"The Girls' Night Out": The rickety truck in which they have to travel during the personal appearance tour.

"The Missing Bus" and "Operation Barney": Practically the entire episodes.

"Moonlight and Maintenance": The contrast between Fred telling his work buddy about the "easy" new job he has as a building maintenance engineer --and Wilma's doing the work, which gets harder and harder throughout the day.

"Cave Scout Jamboree": The Flintstones are leaving on their vacation, when they see some Boy Scouts assembling. Fred (while driving!)leans out the car window to yell, "Hey, fellas! Be prepared!", and almost gets into an accident. Wilma scolds him, "You'd better be prepared -- to get a fat knot on your head if you ever let go of that steering wheel again!" Fred accepts this humbly, as well as a scolding from Pebbles. But when Dino starts to scold him, Fred tells him to shut up, saying, "You're lucky you're even on this trip."

All great & very comical moments! I'd forgotten there were so very many!

I just remembered the Missing Bus scene, in the diner. Fred mentions, "Redrock" and "Charlie "(?) starts giggling hysterically & walking on the ceiling! His buddy seems normal, but then runs off like a chimp?! Riot!

And Fred's chat with the little smart-aleck in the bus LOL

I also love the bit when Fred & Barney are driving to work, talking about some upcoming thing at the Lodge of Water Buffaloes.

Fred: You know how it is, every year I get up & sing. This year, I wanna do something different.
Barney: Oh, your singing IS different, Fred! LOL

And when Fred is choking Sully, in The Boarders.

Wilma: Fred, stop! Or you'll make Sully late for his next class!
Fred: I'd like to make Sully late for his next birthday!

It has to be the trip to Las Vegas, when they stop to see the Grand Canyon. Fred and Barney approach a little trickle of water, Barney asks "What's the big deal?", and Fred responds with "They say it's going to be a big deal someday." Or something like that, it's been a while, so I paraphrased.

reply

Yea, that was an amusing bit. Was that the San Cemente episode? Or when they went panning for gold? I also love bit where Barney questions two bad guys, that goes sometime like,

Barney: Who are you two guys?
Man: We're the villains! What do we look like, Boy Scouts?
Barney: But I thought THEY were the villains
Man: So? Is there a law you can't have more than two villains?

Creative & comical.

I can think of a couple of moments that strike me funny to this day.

Wilma takes the doctor's stethoscope and yells"GET LOST",causing his head to bob up and down.

Wilma and Betty attack an indian tribe whom they think abducted their husbands.

Fred and Barney wind up going down a hill on one ski,and get covered in snow, and they look like snowmen.

Gazoo teaches Fred ballet.

Fred jumps into a laundromatt washing machine thinking Pebbles went in it by accident.

When Fred and Barney were stuck to Barney's bowling ball. One attempt to become unstuck, involved two elephants trying to pull them apart. But that backfires when the elephants collide right into Fred and Barney, and the two of them fall to the ground as flat as cardboard.

Fred points his finger at Wilma and yells at her.She bites his finger.

Agreed!

In that same episode:

Barney is going to serve the children....what he thinks is soda pop.
Fred sees a pitcher of what he thinks is cactus juice. Much to his surprise, it's soda pop!
That meant Barney was going to serve the kids cactus juice!

Of course, Fred stops him before.

If we served that, we'd REALLY have a party! 

It wasn't until years later when I got the joke there. I didn't think much of cactus juice. I thought....cactus JUICE. It's gotta be good for you.

Well....

Never even occurred to me that cactus juice could be an alcoholic beverage. 

The one episode where works as a cook and thinks it's a good job but launch times comes he flops out runs off also Fred punch a guy named Sam Mother he telling Barney the story on the phone from the Slammer Barney gets off the phone Betty Yells at Barney for going to bail him for hitting his mother and Barney says not Fred's Mother Sam MOTHER and Betty says she don't care who's mother it was.

There a New Web Site I Found That has All The Flintstones Episodes it's Called http://toon.is/ Cheek it out

And when Fred & Barney are being held up at gunpoint! Barney gets the idea that THIS guy could break into the Flintstones' home and return Wilma's money that Fred took.

Barney: Fred, this guy is a crook! (or whatever)
Fred: Barney, this ain't What's My Line.

And the stick-up guy keeps trying to keep them "on track"! Such lines as, "Gentlemen, if we could return to the topic at hand." and, "I apologize for having a one-track mind, but..."

I love that scene, plus Fred's nasty lines towards young Arnold later.

Great episode!

"The Split Personality": The scene where Fred realizes that he's just drunk Barney's car polish instead of a soft drink, is especially funny.

I don't know if it is the funniest, but I think it is funny even if I still don't laugh or so the episode The Houseguest when Barney and Betty are staying with the Flintstones, and Wima and Betty are worried about Fred and Barney getting along, and look who winds up getting into fight.
