Least developed character on the Flintstones. They could have changed that though, with one or two different mentions. Sometimes I look at the later episodes, and I could swear she's of ethnicity or nationality---Japanese.

At that time period, I doubt she was intended to be of Asian ethnicity.
shareIf she were Japanese then they would have stereotyped her with a heavy accent and possible buck-teeth which is what they did at that time. They have an episode in which the women learn Karate and the Japanese instructor is an insulting stereotype.

shareIn 1960, less than 20 years after Pearl Harbor, there was still intense hatred of the Japanese in America. They would never have made the character Japanese.
