1-4 Ellie Comes to Town

Ellie Walker the lady druggist helps out her uncle at the drug store.

Andy is smitten and so is Opie. Everybody likes her except Emma.
Emma doesn't like her because she won't give her "her pills" A handful for a dime.
Heck of a deal if you can find it.
Andy and Ellie also have their first disagreement. Opie does mention "ain't got no ma".

Favorite parts. Ellie give Opie a free ice cream cone. Opie says " I ain't never had no free
ice cream before, I ain't even had a paid one lately" He says this after Ellie told him he could have
it if he stopped saying ain't.

Emma is sick at her house with a house full of food. Andy brings her some soup.
The doorbell rings she pops up and says "I hope that's not more soup"

Andy is quizzing Barney on some rules he is trying to learn.
Barney can't remember so Andy reads it word for word and Barney repeats it.
Andy asks him if he wants to do it again, Barney says No, I got it.
As Barney is trying to remember he messes up his hair. This is first time this happens.
A hysterical scene.
This also the first time we see Andy's pant leg get caught on his boot.
I wonder why they never fixed that?

It appears you're going through the episodes sequentially, dewey, quite an undertaking.

I saw a couple of episodes involving Ellie recently in which she and Andy were well into their relationship.

reply

Very strange. I wrote you a reply earlier and it never registered.

It's been awhile since I've seen these in order. I thought this was a good opportunity to revisit these episodes.
Everybody can share as they see fit. I'm also using this as a reference for myself as I watch these again.

I remember some episodes where Andy and Ellie had disagreements. Of course they settled them by the end of the episode.

There have been some strange things occurring. For instance, on two occasions that I've seen, two separate Mods have responded to completely benign posts and then immediately deleted their posts, leaving everyone mystified.

I like what you've been doing here and I agree that they're good reference points. I mentioned previously that I get reruns daily from three separate networks but they're so scattered, I never know what season I'm dealing with. Btw, the tip you gave me worked. I'm now able to get the names of the episodes using the ' info ' button on my remote which makes them easier to locate on YouTube.

The most recent episode of Andy & Ellie I saw was when a handsome, young, new doctor moved into town and seemed to threaten their relationship. It's one of the better ones, imo.

I've noticed the Mod thing too. It's like they're letting you know big brother is watching.

I do remember that episode. I'm sure I'll be watching it in the very near future.
As far as I remember she was only in the first season and not that many episodes at that.

reply

Opie was really adorable in this episode

reply

As I'm revisiting these I've noticed Opie has some of the best scenes.
Seems they were really going towards the heart strings early on.

Recently watched a YouTube interview about Ron Howard's favorite episode. Insightful. Turned out, I had seen that very show just a couple of weeks prior.

What was his favorite episode ?
