The character Andy has so much soul and heart

it's hard for me to imagine Andy having sex, drinking, getting mad, cursing (big words)

i mean he was just a darn good guy who i think we all wish we could be like

I can't imagine Andy Taylor doing the last three, but I CAN imagine the first one you listed! Hmmmm...

He was handsome and quite charming and a real gentleman. Quite a catch. I'll bet Barney wasn't the only one eager to see Andy get remarried( a lot of the ladies in Mayberry probably had their eye on him).

Barney was a horn dog

I would have loved to see Andy drunk on hard cider and macking on the locals at least once.

reply

Well he had the height to turn women on

And the natural curly locks.
Early on he had that little curly piece of hair in the front.

I think Andy Griffith had a very nice head of hair, one of his most attractive features and then later as well, when it was snow white as Matlock.

I've heard stories that it was a toupee.
I've never heard anything to confirm or deny this.
If it was It was one of the better ones I've seen.

reply

You must mean as Matlock, right ? Yeah, I agree. It's been quite awhile since I've seen an episode of that show but it always looked like his real hair to me. I always just perceived it as a natural progression from his younger days.

reply

On TAGS he always had curly, wavy hair.
On Matlock it was more just straight hair parted on the side.
Either way looked very natural.

Andy was a great guy. Very loyal, caring and kind but not perfect. When he made mistakes he would always admit it and try to make up for it. He obviously had sex though (Opie wasn't adopted)and he dated some babes. Also Andy most likely had a drink when chilling with his pals. He opened his mouth when Barney was smashing stills for example. He also got mad at Opie and Barney at times and several times you could sense Andy would have kicked ass if need be but the other person knew when to back off.

All that stuff made him more human and in no way less of a great person.
