*Yawn*

Just saw the film on TCM and it's hard to believe how it's been so highly rated. It may have been revolutionary at the time but so was 'The Jazz Singer' with Al Jolson.

That scene in her apartment room where they talk and talk about nothing was interminable. You could tell Jean-Luc Godard didn't have a script. It was like he was saying "I have screen time I need to fill so I'll just film them and have them say whatever pops in my head."

That's my favorite scene.

It's one of my least favourite scenes of all time. And I've watched a lot of films.

I have to agree with OP, the bedroom scene was tortuous to sit through. The film was otherwise pretty good, much better than Godard's usual didactic style, but that 20 minute stretch where they're in the apartment just drags on.

I was very tempted to turn off halfway through and put something like Killer Klowns from Outer Space on instead. It might be dumb but at least it has some entertainment value!

Except for the exquisite Ms Seberg herself, the movie was a total snorgasm.

I can't bear labels.
