Right at the end when the Prince tells the professors to board the ship and embark towards earth, Mackin says, "well what about you?" and the Prince replys "I'll wait here until you are safe on your way." Afterwards you see the turkey-shaped ship try to take off and explode upon lauch. Isn't this the professor's ship cause later on you see the exact ship flying towards earth.

I just rewatched it, and it did look like that at first, but I think that was actually part of Krankor Palace exploding in the foreground, obscuring the Turkeycraft.
So, the chicken men couldn't upgrade from the drillship to the flying turkey without the stolen superfuel? Now I'm actually curious as to what was cut out, especially the explaination of Krankor having that 3-barreled gun from the Thundertank.
