Just Saw Yellowstone Kelly on Encore Westerns

I just finished watching this movie on Encore Westerns. It was very good. Clint Walker must have made it while his Cheyenne TV series was in reruns. He was excellent in the title role and Ed Byrnes was good as his sidekick. John Russell and Ray Danton made very convincing Indians and Claude Akins, Warren Oates, and Gary Vinson were impressive as soldiers. Andra Martin, who I remember playing an Indian at least twice on the Cheyenne TV series, has the female lead as an Indian maiden whom everyone seems to be fighting over, and she is quite beautiful and seems worth fighting about. The outdoor scenery is really the star of this excellent western and the color photography is quite impressive. The movie worth watching just for that alone, but the actors and the plot also serve to make this an A-Western.
